Discover Valle de Antón, located in the second largest inactive volcano crater in the world. Escape the city and head into nature for a day. Explore the dense forest of the volcano, home to a wonderful variety of flora and fauna.

  • Be amazed by stunning waterfalls like Chorro del Macho
  • Take a short walk in the tropical forest and admire the abundance of avi-fauna
  • Pay a visit to the El Níspero Zoo and Botanical Garden

Leave Panama City at 7:00 AM and head off on a panoramic tour of the central provinces until reaching the Valle de Antón, an ancient crater of an extinct volcano located 1,968 feet above sea level, whose slopes are covered by humid tropical forests crisscrossed by rivers and stunning waterfalls. A short walk through the dense tropical forest will allow you to appreciate the abundant avi-fauna of the place and the Chorro del Macho, the most famous of the waterfalls. The mountain of the sleeping India has inspired writers to immortalize legends of colonial time. Visit the El Níspero Zoo and Botanical Garden, home to numerous endemic and threatened species. Marvel at the famous square trees, as well as the anthropomorphic petroglyphs and ancestral symbols, not yet deciphered by archaeologists. The tour includes a delicious lunch enjoyed with views of the beautiful volcanic landscape. Your visit ends with a stop at the handicraft market, where you can purchase anything from natural wild orchids to figures carved in stone by local people.
