Our stay at Bird Island was truly magical. The location is incredible—right in the jungle but facing the ocean, with stunning views and unforgettable sunsets. It’s a very special place to disconnect and enjoy nature. We also had the chance to experience the local culture and cuisine, which was a highlight—especially the delicious vegetable rondón 😜. The atmosphere is warm, authentic, and full of great people. We’re currently on a one-year trip, and this is definitely one of the places we’ll remember the most.
A literal slice of heaven. Owners Mari & Kit have created an Oasis that will stay in your mind's eye long after your visit ends. For the past 2 years I have attended week-long yoga retreats here and both visits were magical. The food is delicious - fresh, local, healthy. The entire staff are so cheerful and helpful. And look at this view - as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Can't recommend a stay at Bird Island highly enough!
We had a wonderful experience at this hotel in Bocas del Toro! A very special thank you to Cody, who was absolutely amazing throughout our stay. He was always incredibly helpful, responsive, and attentive, making sure everything was perfectly organized — from the accommodation itself to all the transports and tours we requested. His support truly made a difference and allowed everything to run smoothly. Our travelers loved the hotel, and their feedback was extremely positive, which makes us even happier with our choice. It’s always rewarding to work with a team that genuinely cares about the guest experience.
Transformational experience at this place. It's hard to describe the feeling without sounding fake. Its beauty gives a sense of peace that can't be replicated. All 5 senses will feel the location. The staff is kind, polite, helpful, and available whenever you need them. The food was astounding - I felt cared for and nourished each day. The facilities were clean and perfect for what I needed. Plenty of places to spend time on your own or with a group. Easy access to nature, including sloths, and a short walk to a beautiful lagoon and beach. Lots of adventures were available too and the team helped with transport to/from, activities that could be done, and lots of assistance for finding what's right for you. I came home refreshed and relaxed. The staff made my life so easy there - I felt taken care of and wanted for nothing. Overall, exactly what I wanted.
I just had the great privilege of going to spend a week at Bird Island Bungalows as part of a week long yoga retreat. This place is MAGICAL. The rooms are fantastic- the staff and facilities are incredible! You are immersed in nature, sleeping to the soundtracks of crashing waves in the evenings, lounging in the rainwater swimming pool during the day. I cannot recommend enough. The owners have wonderful connections on the island to get you to adventures nearby if you want to explore, otherwise you can totally recharge and explore onsite.
