Expensive but definitely worth it! Service is great and food is even better!
My first experience at this place has to be explained in detail to really understand how things can be in Panama. Restaurant is nice and have been meaning to try it out. Today I went in and walked up to the cashier and asked if I can sit down to order. The lady said you order at the til but you can also sit down with a menu. I sit down, nobody brings me anything , water, cutlery or a menu. A lunch rush comes in and I say nobody has served me. She lady looks at me blankly and says you have to order at the til. Then why did she give me the option to go sit down before ordering with a menu? It makes no sense . By now, there is a 10 person line from the lunch rush. I politely ask her due to the misunderstanding can I skip the line as it wasn’t clear. She said no. So I wait 15 minutes in line to order because they won’t do anything, and when I get up I tell the cashier (a different person), what happened. She apologies and offered me a drink and a cookie. That was nice . I order then wait patiently as I watch as 10 people are slowly served before me (another 25 minutes) before getting to me. It’s common sense that hey let’s just put that order through since we messed that up but no. So finally I’ve been here 40 minutes before eating. The soup and sandwich combo comes , and there’s a huge curly hair on it which I noticed after the first bite I go back to the cashier and show her and she says sorry and tells the lady making the sandwiches. She takes the sandwich and soup away and I go sit down. 10 minutes passes as I see more orders going out. Then someone comes over and says you want us to remake the sandwich ? Amazed, as obviously that’s what I’m waiting for when they take my sandwich away. She asks what I ordered, she got the sandwich right but got the soup wrong (lentil, I ordered tomato). I then wait 15-20 mins , realizing they are making others food before mine, which is frankly absurd. They didn’t prioritize the remaking of the sandwich, instead just put it in the normal queue, which had many people getting lunch. I had to ask again before they finally brought it. 1/5, but 2/5 because food was good Hope the owner sees this. I know is Panama and common sense isn’t so common, but come on, Please do better —— I’m amending my review . The food is just so exceptional here that they don’t deserve to keep a 2 star. Im bumping it up to a 4. I’m well aware in Panama service is often really bad so I suppose it’s not fair to expect them to be any different. Perhaps it’s growing pains. But today I had a breakfast and it was perhaps one of the best pancakes I’ve ever had. The syrup it came with seemed like it would be high fructose corn syrup, but to my surprise it was a very flavorful maple syrup (it was very thin so it fooled me). The lemon flavor in the pancake was balanced and delicious and the burnt caramelized taste was great. The eggs were seasoned well (although not hot) and the bacon was chip like (not chewy) but delicious as well. They could be a 5 when service gets better but you will be happy with the quality of ingredients and food here.
Good food, but service times are well below expectations. I’ve been here twice and the experience has been consistent: service is extremely slow. For a deli-style concept, waiting 30–40 minutes for a coffee and an avocado toast with egg feels excessive, especially when the place is not busy. There is clearly an opportunity to improve operational flow and service timing.
If you’re looking for a place with tasty food and a great service this is where you should go! Nice music and atmosphere! Milena delivers a great service and improve the great experience of this place
Small local cafe great for breakfast. No real pastry selection. Cappuccino was good if a little cool to drink. Limited seating. NY breakfast bagel was an everything bagel with egg, bacon etc. Edible but lacked utensils and napkins. Hueblado Disquentes honored without any issues. Family friendly.
