I stayed at TRYP Hotel for an overnight stopover in Panama City, Panama utilizing my points by Wyndham. The room and facility were clean and inviting. The front desk clerk allowed me to utilize platinum reward of early check in. The hotel is in Centro Panama City was close to restaurants, souvenir shops, and transportation. The only thing missing was the free breakfast and self-service laundry. I will stay at the hotel if I return Panama City, Panama.
Rooms are nicely done. Front desk was friendly and check in was good. One room was ready other we had to wait until 3:00. There is shopping nearby but only for souvenirs. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Great happy hour from 3:00p-7:00p
Conveniently located downtown, this hotel is high end luxury. I stayed in the 10th floor (top of the hotel) and the view was stunning. The room had a corner window t that afforded 180 degrees of viewing. There is a pool on the floor below with a bar providing happy hour celebrations every day from 3-6. Four floors of parking are available too. The desk clerks were always helpful, courteous, and bilingual. I would definitely stay here again.
We were not satisfied. The room was smelly (like no proper ventilation in the room) and we found a bug inside. The breakfast was not that great, quiet large variety but the punkake felt like plastic and the "pan de chocolate" felt it was old (we got better breakfast in a former hostel for comparison). The service was not great. None of them have decent English (I mean we do not need to talk about life, just some phrases is ok). Despite we asked before (both on booking and the evening before at the reception for confirmation) in the morning the reception staff was not letting us leave the bags at the reception for less than 24h. At the end we managed but because of that discussion we got delay for our day tour. The tour guides had to come in to solve this misunderstanding. Bad experience. The nice things were the view and swimming pool at the rooftop.
