Description

Your experience will begin at the door of your hotel, where we will board a private and comfortable vehicle that will take you to the banks of the Gatún River to board a traditional wooden canoe. As you glide through the calm waters surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, the breeze and sounds of the rainforest will fully immerse you in these stunning natural surroundings. Upon arriving at the Emberá Querá community, you'll be welcomed with the warmth of their traditional music played on drums and flutes. A local guide will take you on a tour of the village to show you up close its age-old customs, its stilt houses (palafitos), and to give you information about the plants of the jungle. During the visit, you'll witness a demonstration of their ritual dances, admire their elaborate handmade crafts made from chunga fiber or cocobolo wood, and taste a delicious traditional lunch served on banana leaves. After sharing these unique moments with the members of the community, we'll take the canoe back and comfortably transfer you back to your hotel. Community entrance fees not included!!

Pets: Although our private transportation is adapted, please note that the community does not allow pets to enter in order to protect the local wildlife. Weather conditions: The activity takes place outdoors and in the rainforest. This sightseeing tour will not be canceled due to light rain, so we recommend that you bring a raincoat or poncho. Physical fitness: Boarding the dugout canoe requires a certain level of flexibility to climb in and out of the wooden boat and walk along natural trails. Payments in the community: Bring cash (US dollars in small bills), as there is no signal in the village for points of sale, transfers, or ATMs.
