Description
Located in Chiriquí, Macho de Monte Canyon provides access to volcanic shelves and crystal-clear waters. Hikers can enjoy moderate trails, observe diverse flora and fauna, and swim in natural pools with varying temperatures.
The canyon formed about 600 years ago following the last eruption of the Barú Volcano, shaped by seismic activity and river erosion. It stretches approximately 96 meters long, 4 to 6 meters wide, and up to 30 meters deep.
With certified local guides and safety equipment, visitors can safely partake in adventure activities such as rappelling and jumping from natural rock platforms.
