Casco Viejo, Panama, Panama

Skip the crowded islands. Visit Isla Perro Grande, Isla Diablo and the famous Natural Pool sandbar from Panama City, with snorkel gear, Caribbean-coast lunch and Spanish, English or Portuguese guide.

Highlights

  • Swim at Isla Perro Grande, known for turquoise shallows
  • Wade in the Natural Pool sandbar, waist-deep in the open Caribbean
  • Relax on Isla Diablo, a quieter white-sand island with palm shade
  • Enjoy a traditional Panamanian coastal lunch served beachside on the island
  • Enjoy guidance in Spanish, English or Portuguese — rare in San Blas

Description

Not all San Blas tours visit the same islands — this one takes you to Isla Perro Grande (Achutupu), plus Isla Diablo (Niatupu) and the iconic Natural Pool, a shallow sandbar in the middle of the Caribbean where you stand waist-deep in turquoise water surrounded by open sea. Leave Panama City before sunrise and cross the Guna Yala mountains by 4x4 to the port of Cartí. From there, board a local boat and spend the day island-hopping through the Guna archipelago — one of the last territories in the Americas governed by an indigenous nation. At Isla Perro Grande you'll find calm, shallow water ideal for snorkeling. The Natural Pool is the visual centerpiece of the day: a bright sandbar with starfish visible below the surface. Isla Diablo closes the trip with palm-shaded beach time and space to unwind before the return. Lunch is a traditional Panamanian coastal meal, prepared and served on the island with one drink included. Your local guide leads the group in Spanish, English or Portuguese — a language rarely available in San Blas. Hotel pickup is included from Área Bancaria, Bella Vista, El Cangrejo, Obarrio, San Francisco, Punta Pacífica, Avenida Balboa and Casco Viejo.
