Begin your morning with a hotel or residence pickup by your private Panama guide. Travel to the Miraflores Locks for a 30-minute observation of ships navigating the Panama Canal, with peak viewing hours between 9 AM–11 AM and 2 PM–5 PM. Watch vessels lift or lower 16 meters in two distinct steps from a sheltered terrace while your guide provides detailed explanations.
Visit the Panama Canal Museum and Visitor Center to learn about the canal's construction, its role in global trade, and ongoing expansion projects.
The tour continues to Panamá Viejo, the ruins of Old Panama, the first European settlement on the Pacific coast, destroyed in 1671 by English buccaneer Henry Morgan. The cathedral tower remains as a historic landmark.
