Description

Isla Miro features basic accommodations resembling camping conditions, with private cabins and shared bathrooms a short walk away. The island is managed by a Kuna family who operate a beachfront restaurant serving freshly prepared meals.

Meals include fresh fruit and “Ojaldre” (a fried bread similar to a sugar-free doughnut) for breakfast. Lunch and dinner feature fresh fish, seafood, or chicken with plantains and salad. Vegetarian options are available.

The optional roundtrip transportation service departs from Panama City between 5:00am and 5:45am, taking approximately 2.5 to 3 hours to reach the Port of Carti. The journey passes through jungle highlands where wildlife sightings, such as monkeys and sloths, are common, with stops for photos and grocery purchases if desired.

From Port of Carti, a 40-minute boat ride brings you to Isla Miro. The boat trip may be bumpy and involve ocean spray, so it is not recommended for pregnant guests or those with back issues.

After settling into your cabin, you can relax on the beach or meet the local Kuna family. Lunch is served around 12:30pm with fresh catch of the day options and vegetarian choices.

On day two, check-out is at 8:00am. The morning is free to enjoy the island before a post-lunch island boat tour to visit a natural pool and another San Blas island. The tour ends around 3:00pm with a return to the port and transport back to Panama City by 7:00pm.
