Description

Your Panama Canal Cruise begins at Isla Perico - Amador on the Amador Causeway. After boarding the cruise ship, you will sail through the Bay of Panama with Panama City's skyline as your backdrop. Passing under the Bridge of the Americas, you leave the Pacific Ocean as the first Canal locks come into view.

Entering the Miraflores Locks, you will experience the gigantic walls rising above the vessel. After the lock doors close, water pumps raise the boat 18 meters above sea level. Once opened, the Pacific Queen will enter the Miraflores Lake, an artificial freshwater body separating the Miraflores and Pedro Miguel Locks.

At Pedro Miguel Locks, your boat rises another 9 meters and enters the Gaillard Cut, a 13.7 km passage carved through the Continental Divide. Known also as Culebra Cut for its snake-like shape, this section offers rich historical and geological interest as you pass alongside the Charges River and lush Canal vegetation. The cruise ends at the Gamboa Dredging Division where transportation awaits to return you to Amador Causeway in Panama City.
