Description
This tour begins with pickup from downtown Panama City or Casco Viejo accommodations. The Embera Community and Chagres National Park entry tax (USD $35 per person) must be paid in cash to the guide upon pickup.
After a 50-minute scenic van ride, arrive at the Chagres River shores to start your kayaking journey. A canoe will take you upstream where you will kayak with the assistance of a gentle current. The experience is designed for beginners and non-swimmers.
Midway, pause for a 20-minute hike through the rainforest leading to a pristine waterfall where you can swim. Return to the river along the same trail, crossing mud, sand, and slippery rocks.
Continue by canoe to an Embera tribal village, enjoy a traditional lunch, and explore local handicrafts. Bathroom facilities are available to change into dry clothes.
The tour ends with a canoe ride back to the van for your return trip to Panama City.

- Pickup included from hotels or accommodations in downtown Panama City and Casco Viejo; transportation from Playa Bonita available only for private tours at an extra USD $30 per group (cash)
- Wear comfortable, quick-dry clothing and shoes suitable for hiking in wet and muddy conditions, such as hiking sandals or water shoes with good grip
- Bring a change of clothes; expect to get wet during kayaking and swimming
