Description
Travel back over 600 years to explore the culture of the Emberá people, who have preserved their traditions since before Spanish colonization. The day begins with a transfer of about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Panama City to Chagres National Park.
At the park, you board traditional Emberá piraguas, hand-carved single-log canoes, for a river journey. The trip concludes at Emberá Querá village, meaning 'Emberá Perfume,' where you will be warmly welcomed by community members.
Experience Emberá music, dance, and customs through a guided tour of the village and visits to homes. Engage in an educational session with the shaman, who will explain the medicinal use of jungle plants.
Lunch includes a traditional menu featuring fresh fish, fried green plantains, and fruit. Additionally, guests can choose to receive a temporary jagua ink tattoo, created from a local palm seed, as a unique souvenir.
