I loved staying at this beautiful historic hotel. It has spacious, welcoming lobbies, large comfortable rooms, and an excellent breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful—especially Barbara, who made our stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend staying here on your next visit to Casco Viejo in Panama City!
Didn't stay here, but popped in to the lobby and bar on a tour group break. Beautiful space with live music (harp for a while, then piano) and 2-for-1 happy hour all day (at least on Sundays, maybe everyday - not sure). There were people lined up on the majestic staircase taking quinceañera photos, a large delegation checking in for a convention and tour groups and guests milling about, but it never felt noisy or overly crowded. Hope the rooms are as nice as the downstairs.
Very Expensive. Do not get a balcony room that faces the plaza if you want to sleep. Noise 24/7. Evening reaturant and bartenders WONDERFUL. BUT, the day staff need to speak better English and be more attentive. I waited 15 minutes for a glass of water, only 1 other table !!. I moved towards the front lobby and asked to get a drink.. 30 minutes later, NOTHING. Like I said, staff not attentive. My advice - DO BETTER.
