We just happened to across this place and very glad we did. We had a fruit smoothie, Desayuno Trapiche, creole chicken sandwich, pork rinds and fruit salad. All delicious. Our server was so gracious! He spoke excellent English and wasn’t offended when we tried to speak Spanish poorly.

We stopped by El Trapiche while visiting Panama City, and overall it was a great experience with a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant had a fun, homey vibe. We happened to visit during one of the FIFA matches, and the energy was fantastic with everyone cheering on the game. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. For appetizers, we ordered the Chicharrón de Pork Belly. It was good, but I found myself wishing it had a little more seasoning. It was enjoyable, just not especially memorable. For our entrées, we had the El Patriota Burger, Whole Fried Red Snapper with yuca fries and black beans, and the Fiesta Panameña. Overall, the food was good, but I found myself instinctively reaching for the salt and pepper... only to realize there wasn't any on the table. 😂 Most of the dishes were just a little under-seasoned, so that extra pinch of flavor was definitely missed. The fried snapper had a nicely seasoned, crispy exterior, but the fish itself could have used a bit more flavor, and unfortunately the limes served with it were dried out. On the bright side, my son loved the El Patriota Burger and officially discovered how delicious an over-easy egg can be on a burger. 😂 The drinks were definitely a highlight. The Limonada de Fresa was incredibly fresh and easily my favorite, while my husband really enjoyed the Limonada con Raspadura. Overall, El Trapiche offers a fun atmosphere, friendly service, and authentic Panamanian cuisine. With just a little more seasoning on some of the dishes, this meal would have been an easy five stars. I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're looking for a local dining experience in Panama City.

Me and my boyfriend reserved a table for the show night, which has a menu and you can choose from two options of it or a vegetarian one. We went there for our anniversary and the staff was really nice cause on the table there was a “happy anniversary” sign and during the show they congratulated us. The staff was great! The food wasn’t was I was expecting: you have an appetizer, a main course and dessert + one drink. We tried their Panama plate and the vegetarian plate. The fried appetizer was obviously reheated and not fresh, but the chicken soup was super tasty. The main courses were nothing special, also the food in general didn’t give us a spark, something was off. The show was supposed to be like an hour, but in the end was like 30-40 minutes. They did some dances (which was interesting to see) and then explained a bit about traditional costumes. Overall was an ok experience, I don’t know if I would necessarily suggest it tough.

We had dinner here for the first time and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is really nice. The server was very helpful. We ordered the fiesta panameña that provided a small sample of their traditional foods. It was the perfect amount. Really enjoyed their food and look forward to returning.
