On the northeast side of the park we find Isla Canales de Afuera, approximately 16 miles from Isla Coiba, has several sisters Isla Canales Afuerita and Canales de Tierra.
Its large area of shallow corals, where it finds great variety of marine species and its white sand make it the ideal place where to spend a day in communion with the nature; is special for activities such as sea tourism, kayaking, diving, snorkeling or just lounging on the sand. It also has special points for the sport fishing of Wahoo, Dorado and Tunas, among others.
How to Get There:
You must hire a boat, that takes you from the coast, the most popular places are from Santa Catalina, Playa Banco among others that is located almost to the front, only about 70 minutes journey.
However, if you are in the city of Santiago and do not want to drive two hours to any of these locations, you can make the journey from Puerto Mutis or from Bongo de Montijo. It is just over two hours; the trip begins by sailing along the San Pedro River, passing the community of Hicaco, until reaching Punta Brava, then passing by Santa Catalina, where you will set the course to your destination.
