Description

Your exciting journey begins with a comfortable pickup from your hotel in Panama City — or from Dreams Playa Bonita — followed by a scenic 75-minute drive to the modern Agua Clara Locks, where you’ll witness enormous Neo-Panamax vessels (up to about 366 meters long and 49 m wide) gracefully raised and lowered. From there, we cross the majestic Atlantic Bridge — a cable-stayed marvel stretching 530 m across, with towering pylons reaching 212 m high and soaring 75 m above the water, a structure that allows these giant ships to pass safely beneath. Next, we visit the historic Gatún Visitor Center, home to the original canal locks, and learn about the old-world engineering that made the Panama Canal legendary. We then make a brief pit stop at a quaint grocery store near Gamboa Dock, where you can grab snacks or refreshments before we journey on. From Gamboa town, we board a fast boat and glide into the lush, protected watershed — a verdant sanctuary teeming with life. As we cruise alongside this incredible ecosystem, you’ll see monkeys swinging in the trees, iguanas basking on branches, and caymans lurking in the waterways, all while giant ships navigate the canal beside you. Finally, after this unforgettable exploration of nature and engineering, we return by road to Panama City, leaving you with memories of both stunning wildlife and world-class infrastructure.
