Mercado De Mariscos
The best fish in the city Excellent In the Seafood Market you will find the best fish and seafood in the city and at the most economical prices. It is a typically Panamanian place, frequented basically by local inhabitants. Its 70 stalls offer all kinds of fish (croaker, snapper, tuna ... and others that I had never seen) and seafood (octopus, clams, crabs, shrimp, squid, lobsters, etc).
There are also stalls selling different types of prepared ceviche (raw fish marinated in lemon, vinegar, and spices, ready to eat). On the top floor, there is a restaurant where you can eat creole cuisine, and they also prepare you the fish you bought at the market at the moment.
This food market, located at the entrance to the colonial neighborhood of San Felipe, was created by the Mayor's Office of Panama in 1995 to house fish vendors in a single location and thus comply with internationally required sanitary standards. It is open from 6 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon.
Closes the third Monday of each month for cleaning and disinfection.
