On April 20, 2016, the President of the Republic, Juan Carlos Varela, together with Minister Roberto Roy, Director and President of the Panama Metro S.A., signed an agreement with Japan to finance Line 3.

Line 3 of the Panama Metro is one of the ambitious projects currently being developed in the country that will directly benefit thousands of residents of the province of Western Panama.

Its total length will be approximately 34 kilometers and will be developed in two phases. The first to the Ciudad del Futuro sector, district of Arraiján, where the Patios and Workshops of the line will be located, and a second phase to La Chorrera.

Line 3 will depart from Albrook Station and will travel from Arraiján, Nuevo Chorrillo to Ciudad del Futuro. It will have a route in its first phase of 26.7 kilometers, along which 14 stations will be distributed.

Line 3 will use the Monorriel system, which will allow us to cover a demand of up to 20,000 passengers in one direction, during peak hours (in phase 1).

Each train will have 6 wagons and we will divide the operation of the line into two circuits: - East Circuit: Albrook - Nuevo Chorrillo (17.5km) - Complete Circuit: Albrook - City of the Future (25.85km)
