The Tourism Authority of Panama informs the public that the ninth version of the Thousand Polleras Parade will be held on January 12, 2019, as established by Law 116 of December 10, 2013, whereby it is indicated that this Folkloric-cultural event will be held on the second Saturday of January.
The parade, which takes place in the district of Las Tablas with the participation of tunas, floats and a display of regional skirts, coincides in January with the World Youth Day, whose headquarters will be our country from 22 to 27 January 2019
It is, without a doubt, a great event that will open the doors to the country to show its tourist attractions live. The Parade of the Thousand Polleras, in which the beauty of the typical costume of the Panamanian woman is exposed, will have this year a preponderant role in the exhibition of the culture and traditions of the Panamanian people.
Pilgrims and tourists who meet for that date in the country will have the opportunity to know the striking of the pollera in its different versions, the creativity of our artisans and the joy of the tunas from different regions of the country.
