Panama Conservation celebrate the International Day of the Lazy Animal

The International Day of the Lazy, was born as a result of the first international meeting on the welfare and conservation of the sloth, held in Medellin, Colombia in 2010, at the initiative of the AIUNAU Foundation.

It is an event that takes place in different countries of the world in which volunteers and organizations have joined efforts to seek the protection of the lazy.

For the third consecutive year Gamboa Rainforest Reserve together with the Panamanian Association for Conservation APPC seeking to spread the importance of the protection of the Lazy, invites the general public to participate in the International Day of the Lazy on Sunday, October 21 from 10:00 am to 3: 00pm at the Activity Center of the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve.

There was a fair with food sales, photo exhibitions, stands of allied entities in the theme of conservation and recreational activities for children outdoors on the banks of the Chagres River.

"You could learn from the hand of experts to identify the types of sloths that exist in Panama country, know their habits, their food and you can also know how to be a rescuers of sloths" - emphasized José Soto Director of Activities of the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve.
